China Rejects Trump's Suspicions of Interference with N. Korea

Beijing is denying suspicions that it had a role in North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's alleged change in attitude ahead of his planned summit with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lu Kang relayed the Chinese government's stance in a regular media briefing on Wednesday, when asked about the suspicions raised by Trump before he sat down with visiting South Korean President Moon Jae-in Washington on Tuesday.

Lu said China is only playing a positive role for a solution to Korean Peninsula issues.

Trump said he detected “a little change in attitude" from Kim after he held his second summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in China early this month, adding he can’t say he is happy about it.
