CNN: Foreign Journalists to Leave for N. Korean Nuke Test Site at 5:10 pm

Foreign journalists invited to North Korea to observe a planned dismantling of the regime’s nuclear test site, including from South Korea, will leave for the Punggye-ri testing facility.

CNN correspondent Will Ripley said in a tweet on Wednesday that they were informed by the North they would be leaving Wonsan for the Punggyer-ri site at 5:10 p.m.

Ripley said North Korean authorities have banned them from carrying mobile phones or other devices to get access to the Internet so they would not be able to directly file reports or photos.

It raises speculation that reports of the dismantling event will not be immediately available for the outside world to read.

In an earlier tweet posted at around 3 p.m., Ripley notified the arrival of South Korean journalists at Wonsan airport.

A train carrying the foreign journalists is expected to arrive at the Punggye-ri site early Thursday.
