S. Korea to Continue Efforts to Implement Panmunjeom Declaration

In the wake of the cancellation of the U.S.-North Korea summit, South Korean Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon says that the government will continue its efforts to implement the Panmunjeom Declaration announced after the inter-Korean summit last month.
The minister told reporters on Friday that it appears North Korea remains committed to implementing the declaration and realizing the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Cho said that the government will consider contacting North Korea to resume high-level talks to discuss ways to implement the declaration.
Regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's cancellation of his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the minister said that the government will need to figure out the background of the cancellation in general.
