Japanese Foreign Minister: Summit Meaningless without Results

Following U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to cancel a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono said that it would have been meaningless to hold a meeting that didn't produce any results.
Japan's Kyodo News Agency says Taro, who is visiting Mexico, told reporters on Friday that North Korea has played many games with the summit as a lever.
He said Japan will coordinate with the U.S. to resolve the North's nuclear and missile issues as well as the issue of Japanese nationals abducted by the North.
