Pres. Office Welcomes Renewed Hope for US-N. Korea Summit

The presidential office has said that it's fortunate that the possibility of a U.S.-North Korea summit is being revived.

In a text message sent to reporters, presidential spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom said the top office was cautiously watching developments between Washington and Pyongyang.

The office is known to be regarding the developing situation of a communication channel being activated between the two countries as a positive sign.

Following news of the canceled summit, President Moon Jae-in had said the sincerity of the two nations which have worked toward a resolution remains unchanged.

However the presidential office is known to be refraining from putting out any statement before the Singapore summit is finalized and announced as a result of dialogue between North Korea and the U.S. 

On the possibility of a three-way summit between the two Koreas and the U.S., the top office is known to be guarding against reading too much into what President Trump said about the possibility of the Singaporean summit being extended beyond June 12th.
