White House Expects US-N. Korea Summit to be Held on June 12

The White House expects a summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to take place on June 12 as planned, citing "positive" progress at working-level talks.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said on Wednesday during a news briefing that a U.S. delegation led by former U.S. Ambassador to Seoul Sung Kim held talks with North Korean officials at Panmunjeom on Wednesday. She confirmed that the talks will continue.
Sanders added that the readout from these meetings has been positive and the U.S. will continue to move forward with them.
She said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was in a meeting with Trump, after which he will head to New York for dinner and a full day of meetings Thursday with senior North Korean official Kim Yong-chol.
