Foreign Minister to Vote in Advance of Possible Singapore Visit

A Seoul Foreign Ministry official says Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha plans to cast her ballot on Friday in advance of June 13th local elections next week.

That's fueling speculation in South Korea that she may be headed to Singapore, possibly along with President Moon Jae-in, for a potential trilateral declaration of a formal end to the Korean War.

Moon also plans to cast his vote on Friday, the first day of the two-day early voting period.

Officially, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Noh Kyu-duk tells reporters nothing has been decided on whether Moon or Kang will travel to Singapore.
