Pompeo to Visit S. Korea after Singapore Summit

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit South Korea and China after the upcoming U.S.-North Korea summit to brief them on the outcome of the meeting.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement on Thursday that Pompeo will accompany President Donald Trump to the summit in Singapore on June 12th before flying to Seoul the next day for a two-day trip.

In Seoul, Pompeo will reportedly meet with South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha and Japan's Foreign Minister Taro Kono to explain the summit results and discuss the next steps in their shared approach to North Korea.

Pompeo will fly to Beijing next Thursday to discuss with Chinese officials bilateral, regional and global issues that affect both countries.
