N. Korean Leader Attends Art Performance with his Wife on Lunar New Year's Day
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un reportedly attended an art performance with his wife, Ri Sol-ju, on Lunar New Year's Day.
The North's official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) reported on Wednesday that Kim and Ri attended the performance at the Mansudae Art Theater in Pyongyang on Tuesday marking the Lunar New Year's Day.
It marks Ri's first public appearance since September 9 of last year when she visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the mausoleum of Kim's late father and grandfather.
The KCNA said that when Kim and Ri appeared in the theater, they were greeted by great cheers from the audience and Kim warmly congratulated the audience and the artists.
Kim reportedly attended the performance with top officials, including Choe Ryong-hae, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Jo Yong-won, secretary for organizational affairs of the ruling Workers' Party's Central Committee, and Premier Kim Tok-hun.
