Canada’s Brady Leman won the men’s ski cross event at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics on Wednesday to make up for his heartbreak at the 2014 Sochi Games.

Leman, who finished in fourth place at the last Winter Olympics, came in first place this time around in the four-man final at Phoenix Park.

Switzerland’s Marc Bischofberger finished in second place, while Sergey Ridzik of the Olympic Athletes from Russia came in third.

Ridzik collided with Canadian Kevin Drury early in the race, but managed to recover to claim the bronze medal.

Another Canadian, Chris Del Bosco, crashed in an earlier heat and was taken to hospital where he is reported to be conscious and stable.

A spokesperson for the country’s ski association Freestyle Canada told The Canadian Press that Del Bosco had suffered a suspected pelvic injury.
