S.Korea 2nd in Medal Tally with 13 Gold
Swimmer Park Tae-hwan lived up to high public expectations by winning the men's 200-meter freestyle race on Sunday, the third day of the Asian Games under way in Guangzhou, China.

He set an Asian record of one minute, 44.80 seconds and beat China's Sun Yang who took the silver.

In the men’s individual ten-meter air pistol, Lee Dae-myung won the gold medal beating China's Tan Zongliang by 1.3 points.

Earlier in the ten-meter team pistol event, Lee, Jin Jong-oh and Lee Sang-do also won the gold. Lee has won three gold medals in the Guangzhou games.

The women's ten-meter air pistol team of Gim Yun-mi, Kim Byung-hee and Lee Ho-lim also won the gold beating India and China. Gim who is seven months pregnant with her first child also won in an individual event to secure two gold medals.

Cyclist Jang Sung-jae defended his title in the men's four-kilometer individual pursuit on Sunday clocking in at four minutes 30 seconds.

In judo, Kim Jae-bum bagged his first Asian Games gold medal in the men's under-81 kilogram division.

In the women's under-70 kilogram division, judoka Hwang Ye-sul also clinched her first gold.

South Korea also won the equestrian dressage team event, its fourth consecutive win in the event at the Asian Games. Choi Jun-sang, Kim Kyun-sub, Kim Dong-seon and Hwang Young-shik scored 65.759 in the final.

Korea also added silver medals in women's cycle and dancesport.

The women's soccer team aiming for its first ever medal scored its first win against Vietnam.

South Korea added nine gold medals on Sunday alone. It is second in the medal tally with 13 gold, nine silver and 12 bronze medals.
