S.Korea Adds 4 Golds in Shooting and Soft Tennis
South Korea has added four gold medals in shooting and soft tennis at the Asian Games currently under way in Guangzhou, China.

On the fourth day of the sporting event Monday, the South Korean men's team won the gold medal in the 50-meter rifle prone event. The trio of Kim Jong-hyun, Kim Hak-man and Han Jin-sup beat China’s team and set a new Asian record with a total score of one-thousand-785.

Team member Kim Hak-man grabbed another gold when he won the men’s 50-meter rifle prone event with a score of 698-point-three.

The women’s team added a third gold medal in the same event.

In the mixed doubles final in soft tennis, Ji Yong-min and Kim Kyung-ryun defeated Taiwanese rivals to win a gold medal.

South Korean judokas won three silver medals, while a South Korean shooting team garnered another silver in the men’s 25-meter rapid fire pistol.

Swimmer Park Tae-hwan will attempt to grab gold in the men’s 800-meter freestyle relay on Monday evening.

The South Korean soccer team, which advanced to the second round, will play China at 8 p.m.

South Korean judoka Wang Ki-chun will attempt to grab gold in the 73-kilogram division later in the day, as will the men’s badminton team.

South Korea currently sits in second place in the total medal tally with 17 gold, eleven silver and 14 bronze medals.
