Swimmer Park Wins 3rd Gold at Guangzhou
South Korean swimmer Park Tae-hwan won his third gold medal at the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, on Wednesday.

On the sixth day of the sporting event, Park edged out China’s Lu Zhi Wu to win gold in the men's 100-meter freestyle with a time of 48.70 seconds.

Park earlier grabbed gold medals in the 200- and 400-meter freestyle events. He has now won at least three gold medals in two straight Asian Games.

Female swimmer Jeong Da-rae won gold in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:25:02 seconds. It's the first gold for a South Korean female swimmer in 12 years.

Team Korea also added golds in gymnastics, shooting, equestrian and soft tennis.

Yang Hak-sun won the men's vault gold in artistic gymnastics, beating out China's Feng Zhe.

In shooting, Hong Seong-hwan won the gold in the men’s 25-meter standard pistol in both the individual and team events.

In equestrian, Hwang Young-shik won in the dressage individual.

In soft tennis, Lee Yohan beat fellow South Korean Bae Hwan-sung to capture the gold.

South Korea is currently ranked second after China with 29 gold, 22 silver and 31 bronze medals.
