- Swimmer Park Aiming for 4th Gold at Guangzhou Games
-
South Korean swimmer Park Tae-hwan is aiming to win his fourth gold medal of the Guangzhou Asian Games during the men’s 15-hundred meter freestyle on Thursday.
Park has already picked up three golds in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter freestyle events.
Park is considered to have a good chance of being named the most valuable player of the Asian Games if he wins the 15-hundred-meter race.
He was selected as the most valuable player at the Doha Asian Games four years ago.
Japan's Nihon Keizai Shimbun quoted a coach on the Japanese national swimming team as saying that Park has improved since the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and has become the top swimmer in the world.
