Golden Day for Korea: 6 Golds at the Asian Games
South Korea has added six gold medals in Taekwondo, weightlifting, fencing and baseball at the ongoing Asian Games in Guangzhou.

Jang Mi-ran on Friday won the gold in the women's over-75-kilogram weightlifting event in which she successfully lifted a total of 311 kilograms.

In fencing, Nam Hyun-hee won the gold medal in the women's individual foil, her second in two consecutive Asian Games. Gu Bon-gil also won the gold medal in the men’s individual Sabre.

Noh Eun-sil won the women's under-62 kilogram taekwondo title, routing Iran's Raheleh Asemani 14-2. Lee Dae-hoon also garnered a gold in the men's 63-kilogram event.

The baseball team also won the gold defeating Taiwan 9-3 in the final, while soccer team advanced to the semifinals.

South Korean players added silver medals in men’s Taekwondo, rowing, and soft tennis, and bronze medals each in women’s Taekwondo, table tennis, men and women’s fencing, women’s shooting trap team and Sepaktakraw.

South Korea is currently in second place with 43 gold, 36 silver and 50 bronze.
