Rhythmic Gymnast Son Yeon-jae Finishes Fourth in All-around

South Korean rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon-jae finished fourth in the individual all-around final at the Rio Olympics and failed to win the country’s first Olympic rhythmic gymnastics medal.

Son scored 72-point-898 points from her hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon programs, but failed to win a medal as she ranked fourth. Ganna Rizatdinova of Ukraine took the bronze with 73-point-583 points.

Margarita Mamun of Russia grabbed the gold medal with 76-point-483 points, while her compatriot, Yana Kudryavtseva, won the silver with 75-point-608 points.
 
Son Yeon-jae:
“I’m so happy that I could perform at the Olympics with support and love from so many people. I’m very grateful and satisfied regardless of the results.”
 
She failed to win an Olympic medal but deserves warm encouragement of the people for her efforts.
