S. Korean Oh Hye-ri Wins Women's -67kg Taekwondo Gold in Rio

South Korea's Oh Hye-ri has won the women's -67kg taekwondo gold medal at the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympic Games.

In the final match at Carioca Arena 3 in Rio on Friday, Oh defeated Haby Niare of France 13-12.

The 2015 world champion from South Korea made her Olympic debut in Rio.

Oh's victory has given South Korea its second taekwondo gold medal in the Rio Games.

South Korea has never missed a medal in the female weight class since the martial art became Olympic medal sports in 2000, winning four golds and a bronze.

With the latest gold, South Korea has earned a total of eight gold medals, three silver and eight bronze, taking the eleventh place in the medal tally.
