A British rock band called “The Koreans,” flew in from England to pay tribute to their namesake country.
Sporting shaggy hairdos and an experimental sound, “The Koreans” resemble the look and spirit of the Beatles. The band is comprised of Oliver Hicks and Brent Newman on guitar and vocals, Rob Harwood on bass, Chris Hill on drums, and Henry Aldridge on keyboards. Unlike its name, non of the members are Korean. Oliver Hicks explained the reason why then named the band “The Koreans.” It's from the popular song called 'Cut Your Hair' by the Pavements. At some point in the song, they yell 'Career! Career! Career!' but they thought they were saying "Korea! Korea! Korea!” The Koreans performed for the first time in Korea at the Daehagno Live Theater last weekend. Though they have yet to become household names in England and are virtually unknown here, some circles in the underground music scene hail them as the future sound of British rock.
