Wrestler Choi Hong-man to Begin Military Duty
Mixed martial arts fighter/rapper Choi Hong-man will enter the training camp in Wonju, Gangwon Province next Monday to start a 4-week basic training program for military duty.

Choi’s agent said that he decided to start his military training as soon as possible to get all civic duties fulfilled before concentrating on his sports career. Following the basic training, Choi will be assigned to an undisclosed location as a public service worker.

Now the biggest problem for the military is finding the uniform and shoes that fit Choi’s giant stature. He measures 2m18cm in height and 160kg in weight and wears size 370mm shoes. Although military uniforms are produced to fit males up to 2 meters in height, Choi may still be able to wear standard issue uniforms in the largest size if he is willing to endure a little discomfort. However, boots and helmet will be specially ordered for Choi. As for his sleeping arrangements, the beds are 2m30 in length, so he will have no problem sleeping.

The former champion of Korean traditional wrestling turned to mixed martial arts in 2004 and since then has won numerous titles. He has also released a single album “Beauty and the Beast” in 2007.
