Big Bang’s Daesung to Try Out New Genre
Daesung, a member of Korea’s hottest idol group Big Bang, is trying his hand at a new music genre of traditional Korean pop, better known as “trot.”

Daesung will debut as a trot singer when he releases Monday a digital single album on the internet. It’s worth noting that G-Dragon, Big Bang’s leader and producer, took part in Daesung’s new album. The new song is titled “Look at Me, Gwisun,” composed by G-Dragon.

Big Bang’s representative Yang Hyun-seok of YG Entertainment said that he was skeptical about Daesung venturing out to the trot genre, but was made a believer as soon as he heard Daesung sing. Daesung’s new song is a collaboration of top stars - top female singer Gummy sang the chorus, and G-Dragon and S-Kush, a member of reggae/ hip hop duo Stony Skunk, inserted their voices throughout the song.
