Ballad singer Wheesung has been chosen to sing the Asian version of British pop star Craig David’s “Insomnia.” Wheesung’s representative said that the proposal for the Korean singer was first made by Warner Music Korea. The song’s recording has been completed and the music source goes on sale today, February 16.
David’s hit “Insomnia” is already a huge sensation in Europe and North America. Releasing the Asian version of the song is a marketing tactic employed to widen the song’s popularity in the Asian region. Wheesung’s agency says that it was Craig David himself who chose the Korean pop star to sing the Asian version after reviewing a number of candidates.
Meanwhile, Craig David will go on a world tour, starting in Manila on March 2nd and coming to Osaka and Tokyo in April.
