As an able Korean male, Sungmin had announced his plans to eventually enlist in the military to fulfill his compulsory military duties this year. However, the singer has decided to postpone his enlistment.

According to SM Entertainment, Sungmin chose to not take the final examination to enter the 47th Seoul Police Public Relations Unit. Instead, the singer will be focusing on Super Junior's upcoming comeback and his solo activities (i.e. musical) for the year.
