So clearly, you will go into one of his movies
with some degree of expectations.

Before I comment on the movie.
Let's just casually get into the jist of what it is about.

The concept is interesting, although it is a tried and tested formula.

Nothing intrigues and excites movie-goers seeking escapism
than stories about professional hitman.
Above the law, perfect at what he or she does
and can get away with anything... smoothly.


He wears a suit and tie like any other
white collar worker...
except his profession is murder.
A professional hitman, loyal to his employer
regarded as the best in the business.

But one day, to the surprise of his colleagues
and his enemies
he suddenly decides to quit his job.

He has been growing weary of the job.
Constantly plagued by emotional and psychological occupational hazards.

How can you not question your job and yourself,
when you take lives.

Especially when you need to kill
your colleagues, your mentor and the young and aspiring interns,
when the company deems it necessary.

Adding to that dilemma... is love.

Song Break: 그렇고 그런 얘기 - 소지섭 Feat 허각

While faking the murder of his trusted protoge,
So's character learns that the boy's mother
played by Lee Mi-yeon is a has-been idol singer
he used to have a crush on.

He tries to hand in his resignation,
but the company promotes him and wants him to stay.

But learning of So's treachery,
every one of his office colleagues, seniors, juniors
and receptionists turn against him.

The 35-year-old actor takes on
the challenge of mastering a special type of
martial arts used in the Russian Special Forces.

He had to practice for two months in order to get them right.

The most challenging part was catching
the lightning quick moves demonstrated by his instructor,
and doing the scenes in a slim, tight fitting suit and tie.

Ironically, in high school, his dream was to become
a salary-man and to go to work every morning
wearing a necktie.

Even after 17 years, So says
he feels shy in front of huge crowds,
and in front of the camera some times.

When he debuted in 1995,
everyone said he won't make it,
saying they only want wide-eyed, chiselled features
like Jang Dong-gun.

But it looks like hanging in there long enough,
trend and perception of beauty and style changed.

Now, his narrow eyes and looks is IN.

her acting was awful.

Despite So's effort and dedication,

Predictable, bad action.

One dimensional characters.

A little like Bitter Sweet Life
and Killers.
I'd watch Mr and Mrs. Smith instead.
