[수고] - a noun meaning “effort,” “trouble” or “hard work”
[~했어요] - past tense honorific form of the verb [하다], meaning “to do”

* Casual – 수고했어. / Polite – 수고했어요. / Respectful – 수고하셨습니다.

* 수고 많았어. means the same thing.
- [~많았어] - a past tense verb form of [많다], an adjective meaning abundance in quantity
