먹다 – to eat
먹었습니다 – past tense statement form of 먹다

Casual – 잘 먹었어
Polite 1 – 잘 먹었습니다
Polite 2 – 잘 먹었어요

>> say [잘 먹겠습니다] before eating, using the future tense of [먹다]

>> use the word [맛있다], meaning “to be delicious” to say “Thank you. It was really delicious” :
