몇시예요? (What time is it?)

몇 – interrogative pronoun used with counters
시 – time
이다 – to be
~이에요? / ~예요? – polite question form of [이다]

Casual – 몇시야?
Polite – 몇시예요?

>> use with [지금], meaning “now” to say “what time is it now?”
ex. 지금 몇시예요? / 몇시예요 지금?

>> ask about future events or schedules
ex. 수업이 몇시예요? (What time is the class?)
ex. 오늘 퇴근이 몇시야? (What time do you get off work today?)
ex. 내일 출근이 몇시예요? (What time are you going to work tomorrow?)

>> do not confuse with [몇시에요?], which means “at what time?”

>> To answer, replace [몇] with the correct time
ex. 한 시예요. (It’s 1 o’clock.)
