Sungmin will not be taking part in Super Junior's upcoming comeback.

According to Label SJ under SM Entertainment, Sungmin made the decision to step back from the group's comeback activities due to negative fan backlash, stemming mostly from his sudden marriage announcement in 2014. Label SJ stated it will support Sungmin's decision. Super Junior is hoping to release new music in October.

It was previously announced Sungmin would also be absent from the SMTOWN Live World Tour VI in Korea and Japan due to fan objections.
