Plaids for Fall 2016
Fall is at its peak and our wardrobes need a bit of a boost! Today I’m going to introduce tips on how to wear plaids—a classic fall staple that never goes out of style.

* Plaid Outerwear
Plaids are once again big this fall. Preppy and chic, plaid is undoubtedly a classic and timeless staple in anyone’s wardrobe. This season, we’ve seen the fabric on everything—from a wide variety of tops to chic bottoms and stylish accessories—and among other “it” items, plaid outerwear seems to be ruling the roost at the moment. A great way to spice up an otherwise plain outfit, plaid outerwear—everything from blazers, peacoats to maxi coats and cardigans—are a must-have this fall. Plaid coats in reds, blacks, greys, and whites over other colors were predominantly seen on the runways. For the office, swap your everyday black peacoat for a checkered coat in blacks and reds and instantly update your office look. When rocking the look, let the cool statement coat be the focal point of your outfit and keep the rest of the look toned down by pairing something as simple as a black turtleneck and pants combo.

* Plaid Skirts & Dresses
For an extra fun twist, opt for plaid skirts and dresses. Tightly patterned plaid dresses, skirts, and pants were seen everywhere on the runways in red and blue, black and white and green and purple, and more. Add them to your monochrome collection now and keep your look on-trend! For casual functions, ditch your everyday neutral colored skirt and opt for a red and black plaid skirt teamed with plain neutral colored tops like a chunky cream colored sweater and flaunt your fashion sense. Plaid dresses featuring subdued checks in whites, greys, and blacks are suitable for any work occasion. Pair the dress with opaque tights and classic pumps, throw on a black cape, and you are good to go!

* Plaid Accessories
Be adventurous and go for bright plaids on the accessories! Plaid accessories like knit handbags, belts, shoes, socks, scarves, and others are easy ways to bring some plaid into play without looking overdone. Among others, plaid sneakers and pumps in particular have been spotted on some of the most stylish folks in the fashion business. When rocking the look, remember to keep your details simple and pared-down and do mix and match the plaid shoes with simple, monochromatic outfits such as all-beige, all-black, or all-grey ensembles and let the shoes speak for themselves.

Add some perks of plaid into your fall look and stay stylish!
