Artist Steven Cavallo

2015-01-31

The English-language version of a book containing vivid testimonies by South Korean victims of Japan’s wartime sex slavery was published recently. Translated by New Jersey-based Korean media firm Media Joha, the book titled “Can You Hear Us?: The Untold Narratives of Comfort Women” is the first of its kind and will now be distributed in the United States.

On this week’s Touch Base in Seoul, we meet artist Steven Cavallo in charge of overseeing the translation of the testimonial book into English. Throughout his career, the American painter has been actively making efforts to bring awareness of the plight of comfort women through his artwork.

On behalf of Mr. Mac J. Han of Media Joha and those concerned, Mr. Cavallo speaks about the English release of the book and the significance of publishing the book in the United States. Mr. Cavallo also tells about his past exhibitions and future plans.
