A latest poll shows that President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating has plunged to a record low 19 percent.

According to a national barometer survey of one-thousand-two adults by Embrain Public, Kstat Research, Korea Research International and Hankook Research, 19 percent of respondents were satisfied with Yoon's handling of state affairs, down three percentage points from two week earlier.

The outcome of the polling conducted between Monday and Wednesday is the first time the president's approval rating fell below 20 percent since he took office in May 2022.

A record high of 74 percent of the respondents were dissatisfied with Yoon, up seven percentage points from two weeks prior.

Dissatisfied respondents outnumbered those satisfied among all age groups and in all regions.

The survey had a confidence level of 95 percent, with a margin of error of plus or minus three-point-one percentage points.
