Police have referred the daughter of former President Moon Jae-in to the prosecution on allegations that she operated an illegal lodging business.
According to the police, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul on Friday handed over Moon Da-hye’s case to the prosecution without detaining her, recommending a charge under the Public Health Control Act.
Moon Da-hye is accused of using her studio apartment in Yeongdeungpo District to run a lodging business without undergoing proper procedures like making registrations for lodging business.
She is also alleged to have used a small apartment building she had owned in the same district to run an illegal lodging business.
Moon Da-hye is also accused of running an Airbnb business for the past two years at a house under her name in Jeju City without officially registering the business.
Last week, a drunk driving case against Moon Da-hye was also handed over to the prosecution.
She crashed into a taxi while changing lanes in front of the Hamilton Hotel in the Itaewon area of Seoul on October 5, causing minor injuries to the taxi driver.
