Car Collides with Subway Train in Seoul

A car rammed into a protective wall and collided with a subway train on Sunday morning in Seoul, causing delays in subway and train operations.

According to fire authorities and Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), a passenger car rammed into the protective wall of the railway tracks and collided with a subway train near Geumcheon-gu Office Station on Subway Line 1 at 6:46 a.m. Sunday.

The driver and a passenger aboard the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.

About 300 passengers aboard the train transferred to another train at the station about 50 minutes after the collision, with no reported casualties.

After the accident, eight KTX bullet trains, nine regular trains and 20 subway trains saw delays of ten to 40 minutes.

The police are looking into the exact cause of the collision.
