Entrance to the National Assembly has been shut down following President Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of an emergency martial law, with access granted to some after verification of their identity.

As of 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Assembly guard and employees of the Yeongdeungpo Police Station were dispatched along the walls of the premises.

Access through Gates 1 and 2 is permitted for lawmakers, their aides, employees of the Assembly Secretariat, and members of the press corps at the Assembly after identification.

Some 100 members of the general public have reportedly gathered in front of the Assembly following the martial law declaration.
