Six opposition parties, including the main opposition Democratic Party(DP), submitted a motion on Wednesday seeking the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol. 

DP Rep. Kim Yong-min and Rebuilding Korea Party Rep. Hwang Un-ha submitted the motion at around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday. 

An independent lawmaker and all 190 lawmakers from the six opposition parties, which also included the Jinbo Party, the Basic Income Party, the Reform Party and the Social Democratic Party, supported the impeachment motion. 

The parties plan to report the motion to the plenary session Thursday and have it put to a vote on Friday or Saturday.
