President Yoon Suk Yeol and top officials from the ruling bloc have discussed how to deal with the aftermath of his botched martial law move.
An official at the top office said Wednesday that Yoon met with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, ruling People Power Party(PPP) Chairman Han Dong-hoon and floor leader Choo Kyung-ho, PPP lawmakers Kim Gi-hyeon and Na Kyung-won, and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joo Ho-young.
The presidential official said the participants held a serious discussion on the situation and “displayed no differences.”
The official added that the question of whether Yoon should be expelled from the party was not discussed at the meeting, which lasted for over an hour.
Earlier, the prime minister and the PPP chair and floor leader held a separate meeting with presidential chief of staff Chung Jin-seok and other senior presidential officials at the prime minister’s official residence in Seoul.
The participants are said to have reported the results of their meeting to Yoon.
