President Yoon Suk Yeol and ruling People Power Party chief Han Dong-hoon are expected to meet at the top office or the presidential residence Friday afternoon. 

A key ruling camp official told KBS on the phone that the two are expected to discuss Tuesday night’s martial law decree and the opposition-led motion to impeach Yoon. 

The meeting comes in the short wake of the ruling party’s Supreme Council meeting, during which Han argued that the president must be promptly suspended from duty. 

Otherwise, Han said, the president might again take extreme action as he did earlier this week.

The National Assembly is scheduled to vote on Yoon’s impeachment Saturday.
