Prosecutors investigating last week’s martial law incident have begun raiding the Defense Counterintelligence Command and related entities.

The prosecution’s special investigation headquarters announced on Monday that the raids started in the morning.

The headquarters and military prosecutors jointly sent around 50 investigators to offices connected to the command to secure materials related to the short-lived martial law situation.

The command is suspected of attempting to arrest major political figures when the country was under martial law, including ruling People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon and main opposition Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung.

It is also suspected of taking part in planning and drafting the martial law decree.
