The prosecution summoned health minister Cho Kyoo-hong for questioning Thursday morning as it investigates President Yoon Suk Yeol’s botched martial law declaration last week.

The prosecution’s special investigation team is questioning Cho at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office.

Cho is the first Cabinet member to be summoned for questioning in relation to the martial law situation.

He is among eleven people who attended a five-minute Cabinet meeting held before Yoon declared martial law December 3.

The participants included President Yoon, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and the ministers of foreign affairs, finance, unification, justice, defense, interior, agriculture, and SMEs and startups.

The health minister did not attend a Cabinet meeting early on Wednesday, held for the purpose of lifting martial law.
