Ruling People Power Party(PPP) Chairman Han Dong-hoon has expressed his support for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol, saying it is the only solution to the current situation.

The PPP chair made the remarks Thursday in a statement at the National Assembly, saying he has confirmed that Yoon has no intention of agreeing to an early departure, meaning the president has broken his promise to leave his fate up to the party. 

Han said Yoon must be suspended from his duties immediately through the impeachment process to prevent further chaos. 

He added that PPP lawmakers should appear for the next parliamentary vote on Yoon’s impeachment and join the vote based on their convictions and consciences.
 
The PPP chief said he trusts the party’s lawmakers to join the vote for the country and its people.
