Police Commissioner General Cho Ji-ho claimed that a judge who acquitted main opposition Democratic Party(DP) leader Lee Jae-myung of subornation of perjury charges was included in a list of people subject to arrest under the December 3 martial law decree.
Cho's legal counsel said on Friday that the police chief said Defense Counterintelligence Commander Yeo In-hyung had ordered confirmation of locations regarding 15 people following the declaration.
While the list included the DP chief, ruling People Power Party(PPP) leader Han Dong-hoon, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik and former Supreme Court Chief Justice Kim Myeong-su, there was one person Cho did not immediately recognize.
According to the police chief, the person was Kim Dong-hyun, senior judge at the Seoul Central District Court, who had ruled in Lee's favor on November 25.
Cho said he refused to provide the information and ignored the order.
Meanwhile, Cho claimed that President Yoon Suk Yeol called him six times during martial law to push him to apprehend lawmakers in parliament, an order he said he disregarded and disobeyed.
