Public support for the main opposition Democratic Party has surged to its highest levels since the start of the Yoon Suk Yeol administration, a new survey showed Monday.
According to the poll conducted by Realmeter and commissioned by the Energy Economic Newspaper, those who supported the ruling PPP stood at 25-point-seven percent, while those who approved of the main opposition DP reached 52-point-four percent.
Compared to the same survey from a week earlier, the PPP's approval rating dropped by zero-point-five percentage points, while the DP's approval rating rose by four-point-eight percentage points.
According to Realmeter, the gap in support between the two parties stood at 26-point-seven percentage points, the largest since President Yoon took office.
The poll was conducted last Thursday and Friday on one-thousand-one adults nationwide, ahead of the second vote on a motion to impeach Yoon.
The poll had a confidence level of 95 percent, with a margin of error of plus or minus three-point-one percentage points.
