KBS will host a New Year's countdown show on the night of December 31 through early hours of January 1, featuring performances by K-pop stars.

The "2025 Countdown Show Light Now" on the outdoor stage in front of Shinsegae Department Store in Seoul's Myeongdong area boasts a lineup of K-pop artists Park Jin-young, Byul, 2AM, Jannabi and Kep1er.

The countdown will also be followed by a display of fireworks.

KBS said it plans to prepare the show to help establish the global reputation of Seoul's Myeongdong Square as a major tourist attraction on par with New York's Times Square.

Application to attend the show will be accepted through the KBS website and the program will air on KBS 2TV, KBS KPOP and KBS Enter YouTube channel starting at 11 p.m. on December 31.
