The Presidential Security Service rejected a request by a team probing the December 3 martial law decree for cooperation on execution of a warrant to search and seize a related server.

According to the special team from the National Office of Investigation(NOI) under the police, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials(CIO) and the defense ministry, it was notified of the rejection in a document on Wednesday.

The presidential security cited classified military information and official duties as reasons behind the rejection.

The investigation team noted there was still no voluntary document submission by the presidential agency, and that it plans to consider how to move forward in the probe with the search warrant remaining valid.

The team previously failed an attempt to search the Service on Tuesday to obtain server information related to Police Commissioner General Cho Ji-ho's secure mobile phone used during the short-lived martial law.
