About 15-hundred troops and some 100 military vehicles were reportedly mobilized when President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law early this month.
Rep. Bak Seung-a from the main opposition Democratic Party made the claim Thursday, citing data presented by the defense ministry.
According to the data, about 15-hundred troops were deployed for the short-lived martial law operation on December 3, carrying firearms such as pistols, submachine guns and sniper rifles.
The martial law troops are estimated to have carried more than ten-thousand rounds of live ammunition at that time, although it was not provided to individual soldiers.
The data also showed that the Army Special Warfare Command and the Capital Defense Command mobilized a total of 107 military vehicles, including some 40 buses to transport troops and 25 military motorcycles.
In addition, 12 UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters flew to the National Assembly carrying members of the 707th Special Mission Group during the night of martial law.
