The special police team in charge of the martial law probe is investigating acting President Han Duck-soo as a suspect.

The team said Friday that it has interviewed Han and eight others who attended a Cabinet meeting on December 3 shortly before President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law.

Police reportedly questioned Han face to face, before he took on the role of Acting President on Dec. 14.

The prime minister’s office later said separately that Han faithfully took part in the questing and answered at length.

The police team said it has questioned nine of the 12 people who were present at the Cabinet meeting but not President Yoon, former defense minister Kim Yong-hyun or unification minister Kim Young-ho.

The team said the unification minister appeared for questioning at the prosecution, despite repeated summons from the police.
