Massive rallies were held in central Seoul on Saturday either calling for the swift decision by the Constitutional Court to oust President Yoon Suk Yeol or opposing it.

A civic group demanding Yoon's immediate resignation held a rally at 3 p.m. near Gyeongbok Palace in Seoul.

The police estimated about 25-thousand people participated in the rally as of 5:20 p.m., while the group said the rally drew about 300-thousand people.

An estimated 35-hundred people attended a similar event organized by another civic group at Anguk Station, according to police estimates.

Conservative groups held their own rally at 1 a.m. about one kilometer away from the palace, voicing opposition to Yoon's impeachment.

Police said that no clashes were reported between the two sides.
