The police probing President Yoon Suk Yeol’s botched martial law attempt have secured a document containing the orders issued by Yoon on the night of the martial law declaration.
The police special probe team said on Sunday that finance minister Choi Sang-mok presented the document he had received from Yoon during a Cabinet meeting held before the surprise martial law declaration on December 3.
The team reportedly secured the one-page document from Choi while recently questioning him as a witness.
The document is said to contain Yoon’s instructions such as cutting off operating expenses for the National Assembly and compiling a budget for the operation of the martial law legislature, but the police refused to confirm the contents of the document.
The finance minister told a parliamentary session on December 13 that one of the instructions in the document was to secure financial funds or liquidity in a state of emergency martial law.
Meanwhile, the police reportedly secured Yoon's personal cell phone records and are looking into phone calls he had with people related to his martial law imposition.
