The martial law decree drafted by former defense minister Kim Yong-hyun reportedly included a curfew for the public, but President Yoon Suk Yeol ordered the clause to be removed.

Yoo Seung-soo, a legal representative of the former defense minister, made the claim during a press conference in southern Seoul on Thursday.

According to Yoo, Kim authored most of the draft, which President Yoon reviewed and revised.

The lawyer said that martial law typically includes a curfew for citizens, and Kim included it in the draft.

However, the president reportedly ordered the deletion of the clause, stressing that his martial law was not intended to target the general public but to serve as a warning to the National Assembly.
