Yoon’s Lawyers to Attend First Pretrial Conference for Impeachment Trial

President Yoon Suk Yeol has appointed his legal representatives for his impeachment trial.

According to Yoon’s side on Friday, Bae Bo-yoon and others in his legal team will submit documents on their appointments to the Constitutional Court and attend the first pretrial conference set for 2 p.m. on Friday. 

Bae, a former constitutional researcher, served as a public relations officer at the Constitutional Court during the impeachment trial of former President Park Geun-hye.

Kim Hong-il, a former prosecutor who served as chief of the Korea Communications Commission under Yoon, will reportedly lead Yoon’s legal team in the impeachment trial as well as other investigations on Yoon’s December 3 martial law imposition. 

Yun Gap-geun, a lawyer who previously served as the head of the anti-corruption investigation department of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and the head of the Daegu High Prosecutors' Office, will be in charge of public relations for Yoon.
