The Constitutional Court has reaffirmed it is not impossible to pass judgment on President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment trial with six members on the bench.

The court’s spokesperson Lee Jin stated the position during a press conference on Friday, noting that Moon Hyung-bae, the acting chief of the court, said earlier this month that “discussion was underway” on the matter.

The spokesperson said the six-member court may or may not deliver a ruling, and no decision has been made with the justices still discussing the matter.

The court said President Yoon Suk Yeol’s legal representatives submitted documents on their appointments at around 9 a.m., but have yet to present other documents that were requested.

The Constitutional Court is set to hold the first pretrial conference for Yoon’s impeachment trial at 2 p.m. Friday.
